  • Jordan Nishkian, Editor in Chief

Crafted with rich exposition, careful attention to detail, and thoughtful pacing, it’s easy to become fully immersed in Rebecca Carlyle’s work, whether it’s in the shape of a poem or short story.

  • Judges of NYC Midnight

You really captured what it is like to be enraptured by someone, what a crush actually feels like.  The ending feels like a triumph. Just gorgeous!

  • Leisa Greene, Indie IT Press

An intriguing story set in a world of blurry terrors, the plot very interesting and the scenario-jumping to be a unique narrative. I was along for the ride, and felt the sheer horror of the MC. A classic haunted graveyard with a new twist. With impaired/limited vision the other four senses filled in where vision leaves off. The tension starts high and does not relent.

  • Judges of NYC Midnight

Rich with vivid details. The interwoven grim poem adds on to the creepy feel of the narrative. Each character has a distinct personality that shines through in their dialogue. Matters escalate creating a pulsing tension and ends with one final and unsettling scene. It's a good ghost story with a sinister tone!

  • Judges of Writers Playground

We thought that the writing was excellent. The descriptive language/imagery was very well done and did a great job of pacing the story, building some great suspense as the story moves toward that climactic ending. That twist at the end was awesome; it was disturbing and we didn’t see it coming.
